🌿💙 Bluebell Magic at Swithland Woods 💙🌿
by DayOutPlans · Published · Updated
Spring is here, and that means it’s time for one of nature’s most magical displays—bluebell season! 🌸✨ If you’re in the Leicester & Loughborough area and looking for a stunning spot to see these delicate purple-blue carpets, Swithland Wood is an absolute must-visit. 🌿
Nestled in the heart of Charnwood Forest, this beautiful woodland transforms into a fairy-tale landscape in late April to early May. The soft sunlight filtering through the trees, the fresh forest air, and the endless sea of bluebells make it a dream location for photography and a peaceful escape into nature. 🍃💜
📸 Swipe to see some of my favorite shots from past years! These were taken in early May, but I’m not sure how this year’s bluebell season is looking yet. If you’ve been recently, drop a comment and let me know! 👀👇
✔ Go early in the morning or late afternoon for the best lighting and fewer crowds.(We went in the late afternoon; there were plenty of spaces available in the car park )
✔ Park at South Car Park (Pay & Display) – it’s about £2-£3 for the day.
✔ Bradgate Park tickets don’t work here, so make sure to pay separately!
✔ Bring a camera (or your phone!) because trust me, you’ll want to capture the magic!
✔ Wear comfy shoes—it’s a woodland walk with some bumpy paths.
⚠️ Heads up for parents: The paths are a bit hilly and uneven, so it’s not great for scooters or bikes, but it’s perfect for a little nature adventure on foot!
