Things to do in Warwick Castle
If you’re planning a family trip to Warwick Castle, you’ll find that there are plenty of activities and experiences that kids will love. Here are just a few of the things that you and your children can do at Warwick Castle:

  1. Explore the castle’s history: Kids can learn about the castle’s fascinating history through interactive exhibits and live performances. The castle’s Great Hall and State Rooms are filled with artifacts and displays that bring the past to life.

  2. Watch live shows: From jousting tournaments to falconry displays, there are plenty of live shows and demonstrations to enjoy at Warwick Castle. Kids will love watching knights in armor battle it out or seeing majestic birds of prey in action.

  3. Experience the castle’s dungeon: For older kids who aren’t afraid of the dark, the castle’s dungeon experience is a must. The dungeon takes visitors on a spooky tour through the castle’s history, complete with special effects and live actors.

  4. Visit the Horrible Histories Maze: Based on the popular children’s book series, the Horrible Histories Maze is a fun and educational way for kids to learn about history. The maze is filled with interactive exhibits and challenges that teach kids about different periods in British history.

  5. Try archery or sword fighting: Kids can channel their inner knight or princess by trying their hand at archery or sword fighting. These activities are led by trained instructors who provide all the necessary equipment and instruction.

We visited here with our 4-year-old son in the summer when the theme was Zog, a well-known story for Children.

  • Parking: We recommend Warwick Castle Stratford Road Car Park (the main car park, Warwick Castle Dr, Warwick CV34 6AH) where there are many parking spaces and a 15 minutes walk to the main entrance. Please see the visitor map below for the detailed location. The parking fee is £6.00 (Summer,2021) which can be paid at the machine when you leave. The pay station can be found at the exit just next to the main castle entrance. Parking is free for Premium Merlin Annual Pass holders. For more information please click the Warwick Castle help page
  • Facilities: There are gift shops, café and ice cream stalls on site. However in peak time like during the summer holiday, we also recommend bringing your own snacks and drinks to avoid queuing. Toilets and Baby changing locate in a lot of area, family friendly and very easy to find.
