Seals Spotting

To get to the viewing point, you need to take a short walk along the beach from the Horsey Gap car park.( Horsey Gap Beach, Great Yarmouth NR29 4EJ ). Please note there is no toilet here.

It’s important to note that the best time to see the seals is during the winter months, from November to February when they come ashore to give birth to their pups. During this time, there can be hundreds of seals on the beach, and it’s an incredible sight to see. But we are not allowed to go down to the beach. Instead, they can follow a one-way path along the coast on the slope, where they can see the newly born baby seals on the beach from a distance. It’s best to bring binoculars for a better view.

If it’s not the birth season, we are allowed to go down to the beach, but we must keep a distance of at least 10 meters from the seals. It’s amazing to see seals basking in the sun and sleeping not far behind you while you play on the beach.
